Hey there!  I'm Kristen, the everything-er at handbar co. I am always moving because sitting is hard. Most days you will find me whipping up soap or salve to help me with Montana's high desert dryness- where we hail from.  I love a garden and taking walks in fresh mountain air. I raised 3 boys, dogs, and at one time chickens.

Here is a little about why I do what I do.... I am a retired cosmetologist who got into natural haircare early on in my career gradually dipping into soaps and skin care. It wasn't an intention of mine but became one after learning the products I was using were not as they said they were. You see, over time I developed sensitivities of my own: scents often give me headaches and I am now coping with eczema. I got lost and confused as to what was good, bad, natural, clean, real....ugh!  There is a lot of noise out there. I am here to bring quiet. I am transparent, honest, and like to keep it simple.

Our soaps are made with 100% natural oils and butters and handmade in small batches for control you trust.  My soaps, salves, balm, and butters are preservative free.  We only add preservative protectors to products when water is needed for oil and water combinations that aren't made into a salt (like soap). My goal is to bring nature to you through our natural bath care. All our products are made right here in Missoula, Montana, a local small business!
